While you do not need to be a professional woodworker for this project, a general knowledge of woodworking techniques, safety practices, and blueprint reading are necessary.
Please see the attached list of tools needed to complete the chair. With the provided files you will be able to:
Import the Step files into your cad software of choice and create your own cut paths and machine specific g-code. (files do not contain cut data)
Please note not all cuts can be performed with a typical hobby CNC and some, such as the backrest, will require the use of a bandsaw followed by hand tools and sanding to achieve the curves.
CNC requirements: largest stock piece is 6” x 40” for the back legs. Max Z clearance (below an 1/8” end mill is 4-5/8” for the backrest mortise). If either of these are too big, please email for options.
Package includes:
3d .step files of all chair parts as well as files for 4 additional curved parts to cut out on your CNC for required jigs/work holding fixtures
2 separate PDF downloads (build notes and drawings) formatted for easy reading on letter size paper
